About New Life International
We’re a United Methodist church family of many nations and generations. Together we S.E.W. for Christ. Stewardship, Evangelism, and Worship so people encounter Jesus and grow as disciples.
Our Mission & Vision
A Multicultural Church—A Home Away From Home
Our mission is to make devoted followers of Jesus who love God, love people, and serve our community. We S.E.W. for Christ. STEWARDSHIP, EVANGELISM, and WORSHIP.
We envision a vibrant, multicultural church where every person can worship freely, belong to spiritual family, and live on mission across Northern Virginia and beyond.
Our Values
We S.E.W. for Christ
Stewardship
We honor God with our time, talents, and resources—serving our church family, caring for our community, and giving generously.
Evangelism
We joyfully share the good news of Jesus and invite friends and neighbors to follow Him, here in Northern Virginia and beyond.
Worship
We gather weekly for joyful, multicultural worship centered on Scripture, prayer, and the presence of Jesus.
Our Story
From Many Nations, One Family in Christ
New Life International began with a simple conviction: church should feel like home. From the start, God has gathered people from many nations and backgrounds into one family in Christ.
We worship on Sundays at New Life @ St. Andrews in Alexandria and build community through Neighborhood Networks across the region, in person and online. Wherever you’re from and whatever your story, you’re welcome here.
Our Beliefs
What We Believe
We stand within the historic Christian faith and the United Methodist Church.
God & Scripture
We believe in the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and that the Bible is God-breathed and our guide for faith and life.
Jesus Christ
Jesus is Lord and Savior. Through His life, death, and resurrection we are forgiven and offered new life.
Grace
God’s prevenient, justifying, and sanctifying grace meets us, saves us, and forms us to be like Jesus.
The Church & Mission
The Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, make disciples, and love our neighbors in word and deed.
Sacraments
We celebrate Baptism (for children, youth, and adults) and Holy Communion. All who seek to follow Christ are welcome at the Lord’s Table.
Leadership
Rev. Dr. John Obeng
Minister in Charge
Pastor John serves and shepherds our church family with a heart for prayer, multicultural ministry, and equipping believers to live out their faith every day.
